What is a Rider?

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

First off, a Rider is someone who is interested in Kelli, her music and show. A Rider is someone who enjoys listening to songs like Ride and The Preacher’s Daughter, who is into good story telling, passionate delivery and exciting performances.

Secondly, a Rider is someone who has come to www.kelli.com and expressed an interest in learning more about Kelli by registering for free; they create a username and a password and in doing so, gain access to the Rider’s only section of the site.

Why have Riders?

With over 100 pages of text, photos and music on the public website, there is plenty of information available for people to decide whether they’re a fan or not. Some content is only going to appeal to Kelli’s fans, so by keeping it in a special area, we’re keeping the site clean and easy for those who are just learning about Kelli and her music.

In a world of information overload and overflowing inboxes, deciding whom you’re going to accept email from is a considered decision. We don’t want to send information to people who aren’t interested, so the act of becoming a Rider helps us focus our efforts on those who genuinely want to know what’s going on in Kelli’s world and where the Big Black Bus is going to be next.

What does a Rider get?

The Ticket

The Ticket is Kelli’s regular newsletter that is sent out to every registered Rider, probably around once a month. The purpose of The Ticket is to inform fans about new things that are happening such as: New music released, new tour dates, new content both audio and visual that has been posted on the site as well as anything else that we think might be of interest at the time. The Ticket really is your access to what’s happening on the Big Black Bus, it could even tell you how you might actually get on and meet Kelli and the Shadow men.

Content

Kelli’s blog, video’s shot from the road, photo’s of the behind the scenes activity and rehearsal audio. It is many people’s dream to form band and take the show on the road and we intend to show you exactly what it’s like. Fans of the music can hear how certain tracks and videos develop and will get a real insight into the soul of the project

Community

The Feel Good Project is the Rider’s online community; a series of message boards and forums where you can discuss the music, shows, points of view, etc. Only Riders can post and currently, all posts are moderated. Why The Feel Good project? Because along with creating an environment where Riders can share their common interests - we wanted to bring something a little different to the typical fan-site. Our intent is to collect over a million ways on what makes people “feel good” - we reckon it might make interesting reading. Please take a moment to post on the Feel Good Board and tell us, what makes you feel good! You never know, it might be just the thing another Rider needs. Please make sure you’ve read the terms of service, if your idea of feeling good is to hate or hurt - then this is not the place for you and your voice will not be heard.

Specials

Ever wanted to get backstage at a gig, actually get on the Big Black Bus and experience the Road for a day, want to get discounts on Kelli merchandise or even become part of a song? We’ll be coming up with a million different things to keep people interested and involved and the only way you’ll hear of these opportunities is by becoming a Rider.

Does it cost anything?

Nope – becoming a Rider is free – it takes less than a minute to sign up and you’re “on the bus”.
