Songs are amazing things…they are the base unit upon which Kelli.com is founded. It is the song that enables Kelli to tell a story, it is the song that stays with you long after the memory of the show fades, it is the song that speaks to people individually and personally…without good songs, the Big Black Bus can’t move.
We examine the songwriting process behind this project in detail on Kelli.com - of course at this point, you’ll have to wait a few more weeks to have a look at it. 
But here’s a sneak glimpse of “The Charting” process…this is where the lyrical story behind the songs are hammered out. When you think about the infinite amount of subject matter - the very nature of deciding what a song is going to be about can be terrifying!
The Charting process allows us to capture everything that we think of - no matter how obscure or seemingly obvious it may seem at the time - it is fascinating to see how even the most innocuous idea can blossom into something worth developing.
It is always interesting to bring another personality into the mix as you suddenly have access to the life experience and knowledge of another human being. A few weeks ago Paul joined Kelli for a session and brought a whole new perspective to the table. Four hours into the session a story idea had been mapped out and a loose structure constructed - but a second session will be needed to really turn this one out - as ever - it’s an ambitious song - but no one in the room would strive for anything less…
What tends to be prolific for one may be the opposite for the other. So now you try to focus on KEYWORDS much like the web does for those interested in SEARCHING for an answer. Yes in fact we are all searching for an ANSWER. Some will say that the answer is in the JOURNEY and not the DESTINATION.
