In writing the blog, we hope to give readers an idea, quite literally an insight, into what it is like to follow your dreams. If you don’t know Kelli’s background, you can find out about her and the Shadowmen here.
It is great to be able to show in pictures and words what the process is like, however, nothing can quite convey the sensation of walking into “the room” for the first time. There is a complete shift in - well, in everything, but most dramatically the music gets a lot louder and it all suddenly feels very real.
Kelli - at the start of the day
Starting off in studio 4, it took a couple of hours to set up and dial in sounds. With no riser for Drums or keyboard, the band set up in the format established in the last few rehearsals at Nightingale. A front line of Guitar, Kelli, Keyboards with a traditional back line of Drums and Bass.
Of course, when you’re this cool…..
Thom reflects on the nature of the modern world
Moving to a larger Studio, the band try out a different format. With both guitar players up front, flanking Kelli either side with Drums and Keyboards at the back. It worked out really well and the second run through the set list began to kick ass!
Kelli with her front line, Jeff and Mario
Jeff - who also happens to be rather cool
Mario - who is so cool, he can play his Bass with his eyes shut!
This shot gives an idea of the size of room that we are working in.
