Have A Nice Day

Window down, hands on the wheel
Watch him swagger you know how I feel
Hand on his gun, attitude showing
Tell me he said, “How fast were you going?”

I was doing 96 and having a blast
It isn’t that often I get to go fast
Why play these games when you already know?
Give me the ticket; I’ve got places to go
Oh and Officer, by the way,
Have a nice day!

I could tell from his smirk how this would go
I should have said “Sorry, I really don’t know!”
I knew for sure it wasn’t my day
When he leaned in and said “What did you say?”

I was doing 96 and having a blast
It isn’t that often I get to go fast
Why play these games when you already know?
Give me the ticket; I’ve got places to go
Oh and Officer, by the way,
Have a nice day!

He let out a laugh and I started to frown
With a smile on his face, he put the book down
They’re the first honest words that I’ve heard today
So Lady, Have a Nice day!

I was doing 96 and having a blast
It isn’t that often I get to go fast
Why play these games when you already know?
Give me the ticket; I’ve got places to go
Oh and Officer, by the way,
Have a nice day!
