You know - I remember the day the Berlin Wall came down - my father sat in my living room in London and cried - it was the end of an era - and I can only imagine that those were tears of relief…relief that we didn’t actually blow each other to bits.
We certainly do not advocate the “Everything’s Free” approach - putting on a show like this costs hundreds of thousands of dollars and that has to come from somewhere. In a good market economy like ours - if our product is desirable - then the audience will pay for it and allow us to do more……
But here’s the thing - watching the established “Music Industry” cling to the old model, watching them apply band aid after band aid (no pun intended) and then watching the public remove them one by one - sure makes it encouraging for an Independent artist like Kelli to make it without the “assistance” of a Corporate machine that needs to cater for shareholders and executive level bonuses.
The above link explains how to remove the Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology that is placed on some music files. We’re not going to jump into the argument of who’s right or wrong - but the wall’s coming down, and the sooner the better as far as we’re concerned.
Songs purchased from Kelli.com will be in MP3 format and will contain NO DRM - when you buy them, you are free to do with them whatever you want - they’re yours. Not only that, but you will also have the option to purchase them as HIGH Quality MP3s at 192Kbps, as well as the more traditional 128 Kbps MP3 - its all part of the service!
